Group Lead – Clinical Data Science | ICON plc | Bangalore/Chennai/Trivandrum
Job Summary:
ICON plc, a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research leader, is hiring a Group Lead – Clinical Data Science for its biometrics division in Bangalore, Chennai, or Trivandrum. This leadership role is ideal for professionals with a strong clinical data management background and experience in CDMS platforms such as Rave, INFORM, or OCRDC. You will lead regional data teams, drive process improvements, and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple clinical studies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage local clinical data teams to deliver high-quality outputs within budget and timelines.
Ensure compliance with ICH-GCP, regulatory standards, and sponsor guidelines.
Oversee completion of mandatory training for self and team via internal (iLearn) or sponsor platforms.
Handle administrative functions including time-sheet reviews, leave management, and team scheduling.
Support resource allocation, team balancing, and recruitment in collaboration with study leaders.
Mentor and develop team members while managing performance evaluations and feedback cycles.
Identify gaps and recommend data management process improvements.
Represent Data Management in audits and develop corrective actions for any findings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline.
Significant experience in clinical data management within the pharmaceutical or CRO sector.
Hands-on experience with at least one of ICON’s preferred CDMS platforms: Rave, INFORM, OCRDC.
Prior experience managing Team Leads or study-level managers.
Proven leadership, mentoring, and resource planning capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
