Global Program Clinical Head – Neuroscience (Early Programs) | Novartis – USA

Job Summary:

Novartis is seeking an experienced Global Program Clinical Head (GPCH) to lead early-phase neuroscience clinical development programs. This high-impact leadership role will shape and execute clinical strategies, oversee early development initiatives, and drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver life-changing therapies. If you're an MD or PhD with deep neuroscience expertise and global development experience, this is your opportunity to lead strategic innovation in the pharmaceutical industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead clinical strategy and development planning for neuroscience programs.

  • Align proof-of-concept studies and early development plans with the overall development roadmap.

  • Serve as clinical representative during pre- and post-PoC transitions and key decision points.

  • Drive the creation of clinical content for protocols, IBs, CSRs, and regulatory documents.

  • Collaborate with global functions including Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Safety, and Market Access.

  • Represent Novartis in external engagements with KOLs, regulatory bodies, and advisory boards.

  • Contribute to benefit-risk assessments, Core Data Sheets, PSURs, and product license renewals.

  • Develop and implement publication strategies and external communications in partnership with Medical Writing.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • MD, PhD, or equivalent with 10+ years of experience in clinical research or drug development (Phase I–IV).

  • Proven expertise in Neuroscience, with a deep understanding of neurology, neuroinflammation, or neurodegenerative disorders.

  • Strong grasp of GCP, clinical trial design, regulatory pathways, and submission documentation.

  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional global teams.

  • Experience with BD&L support, study design innovation, and regulatory authority engagement.

  • Preferred: MD/PhD in Neurology; Cell & Gene Therapy or Rare Disease exposure.
