Global Program Clinical Head (M.D.) – Neuroscience | Novartis | East Hanover, NJ

Job Summary

Novartis is seeking a seasoned Global Program Clinical Head (GPCH) to lead innovative clinical development initiatives within the Neuroscience therapeutic area. Based on-site in East Hanover, New Jersey, you will drive global clinical strategy from early development through proof of concept and regulatory submissions. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the clinical strategy leader across neuroscience programs, including early development and licensing evaluations.

  • Lead clinical input into the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Target Product Profile (TPP).

  • Oversee design and execution of Clinical Development Plans supporting global regulatory approvals and market access.

  • Guide cross-functional teams on clinical trial protocol development, study reports, regulatory submissions, and safety evaluations.

  • Represent Novartis in high-level interactions with regulatory authorities, key opinion leaders (KOLs), data monitoring committees, and advisory boards.

  • Ensure continuous benefit-risk assessment and post-marketing surveillance in collaboration with Patient Safety.

  • Collaborate on publication planning and medical communications with Global Medical Affairs.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • MD or PhD with at least 10+ years in clinical research or drug development, ideally in pharma/biotech.

  • Deep expertise in neuroscience clinical development across Phases I–IV.

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement experience in a global, matrix environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of GCP, clinical trial design, regulatory pathways, and decision analytics.

  • Demonstrated success delivering submission-quality documentation and trial results.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Neurology specialization (MD or MD/PhD)

  • Experience in neuroinflammation, rare diseases, or gene/cell therapies


Salary & Compensation

  • Salary Range: $261,100 – $484,900/year (USD)

  • Total compensation includes: sign-on bonus, equity (RSUs), and discretionary awards
