GI/Endoscopy Technician III – West Valley | UCLA Health

Employment Type: Staff – Career (Full-time)
Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM with rotating weekday/weekend on-call
Salary Range: $35.20 – $45.52 per hour
Work Mode: On-site


Job Summary

UCLA Health is hiring a GI/Endoscopy Technician III to join its high-performing team at the West Valley location. In this hands-on clinical role, you’ll prepare procedure suites, assist physicians during endoscopic procedures, and manage scope reprocessing with a focus on infection control, patient safety, and technical excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Set up GI/endoscopy suites with sterile supplies and functioning equipment

  • Assist physicians during procedures including colonoscopies and EGDs

  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and related tools per guidelines

  • Monitor equipment functionality and report any malfunctions immediately

  • Support patient safety and comfort under nursing supervision

  • Maintain detailed records of scope usage, disinfection, and inventory

  • Follow hospital protocols, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations

  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and stock in all procedural areas


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 2–3 years of experience in endoscopy or GI technician roles preferred

  • In-depth knowledge of endoscope reprocessing techniques and infection control

  • Familiarity with GI procedures, terminology, and equipment

  • Ability to assist in high-acuity and fast-paced clinical environments

  • Strong documentation and equipment tracking skills

  • Certification in flexible endoscope reprocessing (GI Tech or CRCST preferred)

  • Understanding of HIPAA, safety, and compliance in clinical settings
