Role Title

Site Contracts & Budgets Specialist (Study Start-Up) (Title inferred based on responsibilities)


Role Summary

Under the guidance of the Site Contracts and Budgets Manager, this role is responsible for the tactical delivery of contract and budget activities for assigned clinical studies within the Global Clinical Study Support Department.

The position focuses on:

  • Contract negotiation and execution

  • Budget coordination

  • Ensuring compliance with financial, contractual, and industry standards


Key Responsibilities

1. Contract Development & Negotiation

  • Draft and develop site-specific:

    • Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs)

    • Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs)

    • Other related contractual documents

  • Negotiate contracts following established escalation and negotiation plans


2. Contract Management & Tracking

  • Track progress of contract negotiations

  • Maintain accurate status reports

  • Ensure timely execution of agreements between:

    • Investigators

    • Sites

    • Sponsors


3. Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as primary point of contact for:

    • Investigator sites

    • Study teams (e.g., CRAs)

    • Global negotiation network

  • Manage escalations during contract negotiations


4. Collaboration & Systems Management

  • Work with study teams to:

    • Set up and maintain contract management systems

    • Support document creation, distribution, negotiation, and execution


5. Mentorship & Team Support

  • Mentor and train junior staff

  • Provide project-specific guidance and resolve issues


6. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Assist in preparing performance metrics (e.g., cycle times)

  • Report:

    • Out-of-scope requests

    • Timeline changes

    • Resource constraints to management


7. Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other assigned duties as required


Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in:

    • Business

    • Science / Healthcare

    • Nursing

    • Or equivalent field


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in:

    • Client service roles within:

      • Biotechnology companies

      • Pharmaceutical companies

      • CROs (Contract Research Organizations)

      • Healthcare-related organizations

  • Required experience:

    • Study Start-Up activities

  • Preferred experience:

    • Electronic document management systems or similar platforms
