Overview
Cactus Communications (cactusglobal.com) is seeking experienced researchers and journal editors to join our freelance network as Journal Selection and Pre-Submission Peer Reviewers. This role allows you to evaluate manuscripts before submission, provide expert recommendations, and enhance the quality and publishability of research papers—all from a remote setting in India.
This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to high-impact research while managing your own schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Provide detailed peer-review-style feedback on manuscripts, identifying areas for improvement.
Evaluate manuscripts for publication readiness and adherence to academic standards.
Prepare comprehensive assessment reports with recommendations for journal selection and improvements.
Ensure timely submission of reviews and reports within client deadlines.
Collaborate with the editorial team to maintain high standards of manuscript evaluation.
Qualifications and Prerequisites
PhD or MD in one of the following fields: Surgery, Education, Ophthalmology, Clinical Oncology, Theoretical Physics / Atomic and Molecular Physics, Theology, Philosophy / Theology, Muscle & Bone Medicine, Physical & Sports Medicine, Reproductive Medicine and OBGYN, Pediatrics, Sociology, Linguistics, Design and Aesthetics, Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
Prior experience as an invited peer reviewer for academic journals or as a journal editor (mandatory).
At least 10 published manuscripts as an author or co-author (mandatory).
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Excellent written communication skills with the ability to provide clear and constructive feedback.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments efficiently.
Commitment to confidentiality and ethical evaluation standards.
