Executive Medical Director – Catalyst Clinical Research (Remote)

Job Summary:

Catalyst Clinical Research is seeking a Remote Executive Medical Director to provide strategic medical leadership and clinical oversight across oncology and multi-therapeutic trials. The role is pivotal in ensuring subject safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality data across global studies. Responsibilities span medical monitoring, patient safety evaluation, protocol development, client consulting, and business development support. This is a leadership opportunity for experienced medical professionals in clinical research or oncology medicine.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical oversight and safety monitoring for clinical trials

  • Review and evaluate product safety data, AEs, SAEs, and deviations

  • Lead medical strategy for proposals, bid defense, and contract acquisition

  • Participate in study protocol design, regulatory strategy, and patient eligibility review

  • Respond to clinical and regulatory inquiries during the study lifecycle

  • Guide project teams and sites on study-specific medical issues

  • Deliver 24/7 medical consultancy to investigators and teams

  • Conduct training for project staff and investigators

  • Contribute to site network development and regulatory consulting

  • Support client meetings, marketing materials, and board-level presentations

  • Oversee medical monitoring budgets and resource allocation

  • Hire, manage, and mentor medical monitoring staff


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD or equivalent)

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years in oncology medical practice, or

    • 5+ years in oncology clinical research in a medical role

  • Certifications:

    • Board eligible (Board certification preferred)

    • Medical licensure strongly preferred

  • Strong understanding of FDA regulations, ICH-GCP, and global safety reporting

  • Proven experience in oncology treatment and standards of care

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and leadership abilities

  • Ability to manage teams, deadlines, and dynamic project scopes

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
