Position Summary

The Director, Clinical Development (Hematology/Oncology) will provide clinical leadership for global development programs. This role involves overseeing clinical trials, regulatory submissions, and external collaborations to drive Jazz’s oncology portfolio forward.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Development & Leadership

  • Lead the design and execution of global clinical development plans and protocols.

  • Oversee clinical trials, medical monitoring, data interpretation, and regulatory submissions.

  • Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), pharmacovigilance, and safety monitoring.

Collaboration & Regulatory Support

  • Work closely with clinical operations, biostatistics, regulatory, pharmacovigilance, and other teams to ensure successful execution of trials.

  • Serve as a medical monitor for hematology/oncology trials, advising on eligibility criteria and patient safety issues.

  • Review and interpret safety and efficacy data in clinical study reports and regulatory filings (IND, NDA).

Strategic & External Engagement

  • Provide strategic insights on new product development and life-cycle management.

  • Engage with external experts, clinical investigators, and cooperative groups to enhance Jazz’s oncology research.

  • Represent Clinical Development in cross-functional teams within Jazz Pharmaceuticals.


Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience & Expertise

  • 3+ years of experience in academic and/or pharmaceutical industry settings.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Hematology/Oncology clinical development.

  • Strong knowledge of GCP, drug safety, MedDRA safety coding, and pharmacovigilance processes.

  • Proven leadership abilities with excellent problem-solving skills.

Education & Certifications

  • MD or equivalent required.

  • Board Eligibility/Certification in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology preferred.

  • US medical licensure and/or clinical practice experience preferred.

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel 30-40% for short durations.


Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range (US-Based Candidates)

  • $240,000 – $360,000 (based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity).
