Position Overview

Labcorp is seeking a Dermatopathologist to join its pathology team in Tampa, Florida. The role focuses on the diagnostic evaluation and interpretation of dermatology specimens while ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and laboratory standards.


Work Schedule

  • Monday – Friday

  • Approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM


Key Responsibilities

Diagnostic Services

  • Perform independent diagnostic evaluation and sign-out of dermatology specimens.

  • Provide accurate and timely pathology interpretations.

  • Maintain high diagnostic quality standards for all cases.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

  • Adhere to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.

  • Maintain compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies.

Consultation & Collaboration

  • Provide expert pathology consultations to clients and laboratory staff.

  • Communicate findings and recommendations through:

    • In-person consultations

    • Telephone discussions

    • Electronic communications

  • Support clinical decision-making through expert dermatopathology insights.


Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Florida Physician License.

  • Board Certification in:

    • Anatomic Pathology (AP), or

    • Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP).

  • Fellowship/Subspecialty Training in Dermatopathology.

  • Board Certification in Dermatopathology (Required).


Preferred Experience

  • Experience in:

    • High-volume hospital pathology settings, or

    • Large referral laboratories.

  • Strong background in dermatopathology diagnostics and case management.
