Critical Care Pharmacist - Dayton Children's Hospital

Job Details:

The Critical Care Pharmacist is responsible for providing safe, effective, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapy to patients in critical care settings such as the Emergency Department (ED), Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This pharmacist will respond to traumas in the ED and codes throughout the hospital. Additionally, the pharmacist will oversee the medication reconciliation process during patient admissions from the ED and attend evening PICU rounds, collaborating with the care teams to improve patient outcomes and safety through clinical recommendations and interventions.

Department Specific Job Details:

  • Shift: Evening shift (7-on/7-off)
  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
  • Licensure: Eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Ohio (must be obtained prior to the start date)
  • Experience:
    • PGY1 residency training at a children’s hospital, OR
    • PGY2 pediatric residency trained, OR
    • More than 2 years of hospital experience

  • Bachelor's: Pharmacy (Required)

Certification/License Requirements:

  • RPh Ohio - Registered Pharmacist - Ohio State Board of Pharmacy
