Position Overview
The Tamil-Speaking Clinical Trial Psych Rater (Clinical Specialist Consultant) plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of psychiatric assessments conducted during clinical trials. This remote position involves evaluating rater performance, reviewing rating scales, conducting live interactions with site raters, and ensuring standardized assessment methodologies across studies.
This part-time role requires approximately 10–16 hours per month, offering flexibility while contributing to high-impact global clinical research.
Key Responsibilities
Review psychiatric rating scales completed by clinical raters to ensure consistent and standardized assessment practices.
Conduct live discussions with raters to provide guidance on assessment methodology, scoring procedures, and clinical evaluation techniques.
Perform functional assessments of rater performance, including mock interviews or role-based evaluations.
Prepare and distribute clinical communications as required.
Participate in orientation, training, and calibration activities to ensure scoring accuracy and alignment with study protocols.
Review case data thoroughly and prepare talking points for rater feedback sessions.
Complete scheduled rater interactions and submit all required documentation within defined timelines.
Ensure all assessments uphold data integrity, reliability, and adherence to clinical trial standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Master’s degree (MA/MS) in Psychology, Counseling, Psychiatric Nursing, Social Work, or equivalent.
Preferred: MD, DO, or PhD in a relevant behavioral or medical discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience administering psychiatric assessments, rating scales, or structured clinical interviews.
Strong experience specifically with:
EQ-5D-5L (Interviewer Administered and Proxy 1 versions)
mRS (Modified Rankin Scale)
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience working with psychiatric populations.
Minimum 3 years of experience in clinical research trials involving psychiatric rating scales (excluding graduate/doctoral work).
Experience in CNS (Central Nervous System) clinical trials is preferred.
Fluency in Tamil (native speaker) and strong command of English is required.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally at all organizational levels.
Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, and digital communication tools.
Experience Level
Mid to Senior Level
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on psychiatric assessment experience and 3 years in clinical trial rating environments.
