Position Overview

The Clinical Research Supervisor will provide leadership in the execution of clinical studies and ensure compliance with global regulatory standards. This role is responsible for overseeing clinical research operations, managing study teams, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and supporting product approval processes. The position requires strong people management skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple studies across different therapies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, conduct, and oversight of clinical studies, ensuring scientific validity and adherence to regulatory and ethical guidelines.

  • Support regulatory affairs activities related to product approvals across global markets.

  • Ensure regulatory submissions and study documentation meet accuracy and compliance standards.

  • Represent Medtronic in clinical research discussions with regional authorities and local stakeholders.

  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, investigators, and regulatory bodies.

  • Manage execution of local and global studies across multiple therapeutic areas.

  • Supervise clinical research teams, providing direction, workload oversight, and performance management.

  • Guide team members through coaching, mentoring, and development initiatives.

  • Ensure departmental goals, productivity standards, and project timelines are met.

  • Contribute to improvements in clinical processes, systems, and operational efficiency.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of support professionals, including technicians, production staff, and clerical contributors.

  • Provide input on hiring, promotions, performance reviews, and rewards.

  • Maintain workflow continuity, resource allocation, and productivity.

  • Communicate operational updates, priorities, and expectations clearly and effectively.

Role Expectations and Decision-Making

  • Operate with moderate autonomy, performing individual tasks alongside supervisory duties.

  • Plan operational objectives and manage schedules for team members.

  • Address defined operational challenges and recommend process enhancements.

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, customers, and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification meeting 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A)).

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical research or operational experience.

  • Understanding of basic management principles including work scheduling, coaching, and process oversight.

  • Broad technical or operational knowledge within clinical research or associated disciplines.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Physical Requirements
