About the Role:
Fortrea is seeking a Clinical Research Physician (MD or DO) to join our Phase I clinical research site in Dallas, TX. This on-site, full-time position offers the opportunity to lead clinical research efforts, oversee healthy volunteer studies, and collaborate with a high-performing team in cutting-edge trials.

As a Clinical Research Physician, you will provide medical oversight, ensure participant safety, and support study protocols. You may serve as a Sub-Investigator or Principal Investigator, contributing directly to the development of innovative therapies with global impact.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite medical coverage and oversight for healthy volunteer participants

  • Conduct pre-, on-, and post-study medical exams

  • Support study protocols, regulatory submissions, IRB/IEC meetings, and client visits

  • Communicate effectively with clinical teams, regulatory bodies, and trial participants

  • Participate in call rotations (1:5, including occasional weekends, from home or onsite)

  • Serve as Sub-Investigator or Principal Investigator when required

  • Undertake additional duties as needed to ensure trial success


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • MD or DO with active Texas medical license and DEA registration

  • CPR and ACLS certification

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (Family Medicine or Primary Care preferred)

  • Clinical trials experience is a plus

  • Strong commitment to patient safety, research integrity, and participant-centered care

  • English proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading

  • Open to candidates willing to relocate and obtain Texas state licensure if applicable

  • Relevant equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education


Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Laboratory and clinical environment exposure, including biological fluids

  • Occasional travel to sites and domestic trips

  • Personal protective equipment required (eyewear, gloves, protective garments)

  • Ability to work upright or stationary for 6–8 hours per day

  • Repetitive hand movements for operating lab equipment

  • Occasional crouching, stooping, bending, and twisting

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 15–20 lbs

  • Regular attendance and flexibility for varied hours
