About the Role:
Join one of the world’s largest Clinical Research Organizations, operating four Early Phase Clinical Research Units across the UK and US. We are seeking a Clinical Research Nurse to provide direct care to healthy volunteer participants while supporting complex clinical research protocols. This on-site, full-time role in Madison, WI offers variable shift schedules and exposure to diverse therapeutic areas, including first-in-human trials, ascending dose studies, food effect evaluations, and drug-drug interaction research.

This position provides a unique opportunity to work with leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies during critical early-stage clinical development. You will play a direct role in assessing the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of investigational therapies, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge medical technologies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-standard clinical care using professional knowledge, nursing skills, and clinical judgment

  • Prioritize participant safety, dignity, and well-being at all times

  • Respond effectively to emergency situations following company policies and nursing standards

  • Monitor participant health and document any adverse events, taking appropriate action as required

  • Obtain informed consent and educate participants on study procedures throughout the trial

  • Administer investigational compounds, including parenteral administration, in compliance with protocol and regulatory guidelines

  • Perform study-related procedures such as cannulation, venipuncture, ECGs, telemetry, Holters, and vital sign monitoring

  • Maintain accurate electronic records and contribute to a technology-driven research environment

  • Assist with additional duties as assigned to support the clinical trial


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with active licensure in the applicable state

  • CPR/AED certification required

  • ACLS certification preferred; can be obtained after hire if not currently certified

  • 0–1 year of related clinical research or patient care experience

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and protocol-driven environment

  • Strong adaptability to changing priorities and attention to detail

  • Proficiency with electronic data collection systems


Physical & Work Requirements:

  • Ability to work upright or stationary for 6–8 hours per day

  • Repetitive hand movements required to operate laboratory and clinical equipment

  • Occasional crouching, stooping, bending, or twisting

  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 15–20 lbs

  • Flexible hours may be required
