Job Overview

This role places you at the intersection of clinical research and finance operations. As a Clinical Payment Analyst I, you will manage global clinical trial payments, invoice processing, and financial reconciliation activities for clinical studies.

You will play a key role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payments to clinical sites and vendors—supporting the financial backbone of clinical trials and drug development programs.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Payment Processing & Finance Operations

  • Process global clinical study invoices in accordance with contracts and SOPs

  • Review, validate, and route payments within defined timelines

  • Support study budget setup and payment workflows

Reconciliation & Issue Resolution

  • Perform payment research and reconciliation to resolve discrepancies

  • Investigate invoice/payment issues raised by sites or internal teams

  • Document findings and coordinate with global (US/EMEA) teams

Stakeholder Communication & Support

  • Respond to site payment queries via shared mailboxes professionally and timely

  • Coordinate with clinical sites, vendors, and internal stakeholders

  • Collaborate with Data Systems and Clinical Operations teams for issue resolution

Audit & Compliance Support

  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits

  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, financial policies, and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and clinical study data

Reporting & Financial Analysis

  • Generate financial reports and support month-end activities

  • Assist in payment accruals, forecasting, and data analysis

  • Support tracking of clinical payment metrics and trends


Required Skills & Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in:

    • Accounting

    • Finance

    • Business Administration

    • Computer Information Systems (preferred)

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in finance/accounting

  • 1–2 years of experience in invoicing or payment processing

  • Exposure to clinical research or pharma industry (preferred)

Core Skills & Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of invoice processing and financial reconciliation

  • Familiarity with clinical trial payments and budgeting (preferred)

  • Experience with SAP Enterprise Software (highly desirable)

  • Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and reporting tools

  • Exposure to SQL Server / relational databases (plus)

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial data
