Job Summary
Thermo Fisher Scientific (PPD Clinical Research Services) is hiring a Clinical Data Team Lead (CDTL) to lead clinical data management activities for clinical studies, coordinate with clients and internal teams, manage study deliverables, mentor team members, and ensure data quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence in clinical research projects.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Data Management Leadership
Act as Lead Data Manager for one or more clinical studies.
Manage end-to-end clinical data management (CDM) activities.
Support senior data managers for higher complexity studies.
Serve as liaison between:
Clients
Project Leads
Clinical teams
Internal departments
Apply study protocol requirements to daily data management activities.
Project Management & Delivery
Develop and maintain:
Data management project documentation
Study files
CDM deliverables
Conduct independent quality reviews of data management outputs.
Monitor:
Study metrics
Timelines
Resource utilization
Project deliverables
Generate project-specific reports for:
Management
Project Leads
Clients
Support project forecasting and resource planning.
Identify:
Out-of-scope activities
Resource gaps
Contract modification requirements
Team Leadership & Training
Develop and deliver study-specific training for data management teams.
Mentor junior data management professionals.
Guide study teams on protocol implementation and CDM workflows.
Ensure team adherence to SOPs and client expectations.
Business Support
Participate in:
Bid preparation
Business development support
Bid defense meetings
Support administrative and financial project management.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant qualification
Equivalent education + experience combination may be considered.
Required Experience
Minimum 2+ years of relevant clinical data management experience
