Clinical Data Lead – ICON, Bengaluru (On-site)

Job Summary

ICON plc is seeking an experienced Clinical Data Lead for its on-site Bengaluru office. In this role, you will oversee the participant data journey from source to ingestion, ensuring data integrity across clinical trials. You will collaborate with clinical, data, and vendor teams, providing leadership in data acquisition, reconciliation, digital technologies, and vendor assessment. This position is ideal for mid-to-senior level professionals with strong backgrounds in clinical data management and modern data platforms in the BioPharma industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and document participant data sources; create data flow maps to visualize clinical data journeys

  • Define and reconcile data ingestion specs; ensure compliance with data governance frameworks

  • Serve as SME for non-CRF, EDC, and digital health technology data handling

  • Conduct risk assessments on participant data and guide study teams on data integrity

  • Collaborate with vendors and CROs to assess capabilities and mitigate ingestion challenges

  • Provide input on long-term data ingestion solutions and workflow automation

  • Work with data enablement teams for data harmonization, transformation, and validation

  • Support business process improvements related to digital protocols, tokenisation, and automation initiatives


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in clinical data management and acquisition

  • Preferred 7+ years in clinical data handling within the BioPharma industry

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field

  • Deep understanding of EDC systems, non-CRF data, and digital health technologies

  • Familiarity with modern data platforms (Big Data, Lakehouse, cloud integration)

  • Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills

  • Excellent knowledge of clinical trial workflows, data governance, and vendor interactions
