Job Overview
Syneos Health is seeking a skilled Central Monitor II to support Risk-Based Quality Management (RBQM) and centralized monitoring activities across global clinical trials. This role focuses on leveraging data analytics to identify risks, ensure data quality, and enhance study performance from study start-up through database lock. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively manage risks and ensure compliance with clinical monitoring plans and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Centralized Monitoring & Risk Management

  • Perform centralized monitoring of clinical trial data in alignment with study monitoring plans

  • Identify data trends, inconsistencies, and potential risks at study, country, and site levels

  • Proactively escalate risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions

  • Maintain oversight of risk indicators and key performance metrics

RBQM & Data Analytics Expertise

  • Act as a subject matter expert in Risk-Based Monitoring (RBM) and data analytics tools

  • Conduct data risk reviews and manage risk and issue tracking within analytical platforms

  • Support implementation and consistent application of RBQM principles across studies

Study Setup & Tool Management

  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of centralized monitoring tools

  • Ensure proper documentation, archiving, and traceability of data reviews and risk assessments

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Central Monitoring Leads, Clinical Operations, and Data Management teams

  • Communicate findings, trends, and insights to study teams with actionable recommendations

  • Provide regular status updates and reports to stakeholders

Training & Process Support

  • Support training of study teams on RBQM and centralized monitoring processes

  • Contribute to process improvements and best practices in data monitoring and analytics

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines, SOPs, and quality standards

  • Maintain high standards of data integrity and audit readiness throughout the study lifecycle

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Statistics, or a related field

  • Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and data management principles

  • Knowledge of Risk-Based Monitoring (RBM) and centralized monitoring methodologies

  • Familiarity with data analytics tools used in clinical trials

Experience Required

  • Typically 2–5 years of experience in clinical research, centralized monitoring, or data analytics roles

  • Hands-on experience with RBQM frameworks and centralized monitoring tools is preferred

  • Experience working in CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotech environments
