Role Overview: Associate – Scientific Writing

This role involves reviewing, developing, and updating scientific and medical content across multiple therapeutic areas. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and scientific rigor in all materials while working closely with cross-functional teams and clients.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific & Medical Review

  • Review promotional and medical communication materials to ensure accuracy, scientific rigor, truthfulness, balance, relevancy, and compliance with pharma regulations.

  • Verify content against updated, authentic literature sources and ensure alignment with product and therapy area information.

Content Development

  • Create and update scientific content for various medical deliverables.

  • Perform literature searches, identify suitable references, and support data-driven content creation.

  • Track, audit, and manage assets as per client requirements.

Quality & Compliance

  • Produce deliverables that meet client quality metrics and timelines.

  • Follow departmental best practices regarding documentation, communication, project management, grammar, stylization, referencing, and conflict identification.

  • Adhere to SOPs, guidelines, and regulatory standards.

  • Ensure compliance with all confidentiality, security, and quality systems.

Project & Client Interaction

  • Participate in client calls based on project needs.

  • Collaborate with project managers and internal teams to ensure timely task completion.

  • Attend training programs and complete assigned learning activities.


Required Qualifications

Education

  • MD, MDS, PhD, Post-Doctoral qualification, or MBBS with relevant experience.

Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in pharmaceutical companies or medical review.

  • Understanding of a specialty medical area (preferred) or broad medical knowledge.

Skills

  • Strong passion for scientific and medical writing.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to identify and solve problems effectively.

  • Up-to-date awareness of scientific advancements and ability to integrate them into deliverables.

  • Client-focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.


Good to Have

  • Prior experience in promotional medical review.

  • Exposure to medical affairs, medical writing, or scientific communication projects.
