Role Overview

The Scientific Communications Associate Project Manager (APM) supports project management activities across Amgen’s global Scientific Communications portfolio—including publications, medical content, and congress deliverables. The APM ensures timely, compliant, and high-quality execution aligned with business priorities and organizational standards.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Scientific Communications (India) and collaborates with content managers, designers, and cross-functional global and local teams to ensure seamless project delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage end-to-end project schedules, scope, dependencies, and deliverables for publications, medical content, and congress activities.

  • Facilitate team meetings and working sessions, document decisions/action items, and ensure timely follow-up.

  • Build dashboards and reports to monitor data quality, assess impact, and communicate KPIs and compliance metrics.

  • Coordinate congress planning and execution in alignment with established procedures.

  • Support end-to-end management of publications and other scientific communications deliverables.

  • Partner with US-based publication planners and SMEs to support publication operations.

  • Identify and drive process improvements and automation opportunities (e.g., Power Platform, low-code tools).

  • Contribute to user acceptance testing and training for new or enhanced tools.

  • Ensure compliance with Amgen’s SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications & Experience

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, MBA, or a related discipline
    OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, MBA, or related field + 1.5 years directly related industry experience
    OR

  • Associate’s degree + 3 years directly related industry experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of project management experience in cross-functional or regulated environments.

  • Experience in publications, scientific writing, or scientific communications processes.

  • Familiarity with biotech platforms (Salesforce, Veeva Vault).

  • Knowledge of publication submission, congress management, and related tools.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Miro, and project management tools (MS Planner or equivalent).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to facilitate meetings and summarize outcomes effectively.

  • Exposure to automation and AI-assisted workflows (e.g., Power Platform, VBA, low-code/no-code tools).

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across time zones and matrixed teams.
