Associate Director - Medical Science Liaison (Gastroenterology) | Dallas, TX

Job Summary

Lilly is hiring an Associate Director - Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Gastroenterology for its field-based medical affairs team. This role is ideal for advanced degree holders with strong scientific expertise, seeking to engage healthcare professionals, drive scientific exchange, and provide strategic medical insights. The role offers high visibility in scientific and strategic medical planning in the pharmaceutical landscape.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a scientific expert in gastroenterology, maintaining deep therapeutic knowledge.

  • Engage scientific experts (SEs) through evidence-based, peer-to-peer dialogue.

  • Support clinical trial efforts and research collaborations through field insights.

  • Communicate complex clinical data and strategic feedback to internal teams.

  • Contribute to medical planning and cross-functional scientific strategy.

  • Manage a territory focused on Northern and Western Texas with up to 80% travel.

  • Identify external research and medical education opportunities.

  • Adhere to regulatory and compliance standards in all field activities.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • PharmD, MD, or PhD in a medically relevant field (required).

  • 2–3 years of experience in clinical or therapeutic areas (required).

  • Alternatively, BSN, RPh, PA, or NP with 5+ years of relevant clinical/research/industry experience.

  • Strong scientific acumen with the ability to synthesize and communicate complex data.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Field-based or MSL experience strongly preferred.

  • High emotional intelligence and interpersonal relationship skills.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.

  • Must reside near Dallas or be willing to relocate.
