Education:
M.Sc. Chemistry / M.Sc. Biochemistry / B. Pharm / M. Pharm graduates
Experience:
Fresher or less than 2 years of relevant experience
Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of chemical drawing packages (e.g., ISIS Draw)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
IUPAC nomenclature knowledge (added advantage)
In-depth understanding of chemistry including reactions, formulae, catalysts, additives, and their functions
Strong English communication skills (written and oral)
What You Will Be Doing
Indexing and coding chemical compounds in patents
Extracting pharmaceutical, therapeutic, agrochemical activities, chemical reactions, drug information, and drawing Markush structures from patents
Achieving target volume deliverables with high efficiency and quality
Keeping updated with current trends and developments in Pharmaceuticals/Chemistry
Utilizing structure handling tools effectively
Prioritizing and completing assigned tasks independently and collaboratively
Supporting team operations and process changes with flexibility
Contributing as a trusted resource in delivering customer satisfaction
Performing additional duties as assigned by the manager
Summary of Role
Entry-level Scientific Editor in the Intellectual Property Content Editing team, contributing to DWPI™ (Derwent World Patent Index) – a proprietary database that provides value-added scientific information to identify pharmaceutical compounds, compositions, and structures covered in patents.
About the Team
You will be part of the Intellectual Property Content Editing Team that ensures high-quality indexing and scientific analysis of patents, directly supporting global innovation research and discovery.
Hours of Work
Full-time, permanent role
8 hours per day, Monday to Friday
