We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Medical & Clinical Operations to lead high-performing medical coding and clinical operations teams while ensuring regulatory compliance, quality excellence, and client satisfaction.

This role is ideal for professionals with strong leadership experience in medical coding operations, deep knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies, and a proven ability to manage teams, stakeholders, and performance metrics in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end medical coding and clinical operations for assigned projects

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding, billing regulations, and compliance requirements

  • Drive key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, quality, turnaround time (TAT), attendance, and attrition

  • Manage client communication and serve as the primary point of contact for operational discussions

  • Review, analyze, and present periodic operational reports and performance metrics

  • Evaluate workflows, operational practices, and procedures to identify improvement opportunities

  • Support and drive quality initiatives, process improvements, and internal audits

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and contractual obligations

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to team members through structured and informal sessions

  • Develop and execute retention strategies and manage team attrition effectively

  • Assist senior management in operational planning, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Collaborate closely with SMEs, auditors, and trainers to identify skill gaps and training needs

  • Handle conflict resolution, risk mitigation, and critical operational situations proactively


Required Qualifications

  • Graduate or Postgraduate in Life Sciences or Allied Medicine such as BHMS, BAMS, BPT, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dental, or related fields

  • Certified Medical Coder with AAPC or AHIMA credentials (CPC, CCS, CPC-H, CCS-P preferred)

  • Minimum 8+ years of medical coding experience, including 2+ years in a Team Lead or managerial role

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology

  • Proficiency in healthcare reimbursement methodologies and payer guidelines

  • Proven experience managing teams, performance metrics, and daily operations

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to coach individuals, improve performance gaps, and drive employee engagement

  • Experience working closely with quality, audit, and training teams
