Internship Overview

Program Duration: Approximately 12 weeks (Summer 2026)
Location: Cambridge, MA
Internship Type: Paid, On-site

You will experience both project-based and experiential learning, including:

  • Real-world strategic and analytical projects

About the Operations Function

Operations at Amgen is one of three foundational functions and includes the following five sub-functions:

  1. Supply Chain

  2. Process Development

  3. Quality

  4. Manufacturing

  5. Facilities & Engineering

Interns will work cross-functionally on high-impact projects that deliver recommendations to senior leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a project charter outlining objectives, stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables

  • Apply analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills to:

    • Identify and define business problems

    • Measure and assess current state

    • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses

    • Develop and present recommendations

  • Present findings through:

    • Intern-wide poster session

    • Final presentation to executive management

  • Network with colleagues and participate in Employee Resource Groups


Basic Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program at an accredited institution

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study prior to the start of the internship

  • Must continue enrollment in a full-time Bachelor’s program post-internship

  • Must not be employed at the start of the internship

  • Must be located in the U.S. for the duration of the internship


Preferred Qualifications

  • Junior standing (graduating Summer 2027)

  • Degree in:

    • Engineering

    • Life Science

    • Chemistry / Chemical Engineering

    • Biotechnology

    • Applied Mathematics

    • Data Science

  • Proficiency in:

    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

    • VBA for Excel

    • SQL

  • Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated leadership experience through campus or community involvement

  • Adaptable, self-motivated, and proactive
