Job Overview

Elanco is seeking an experienced Team Leader – Pharmacovigilance to manage and lead the PV Case Processing Team within the Elanco Innovation and Alliance Center for India (EIACI). This leadership role is responsible for overseeing global pharmacovigilance (GPV) case processing activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, data quality, and operational excellence across adverse event and product complaint management.

The role requires strong people leadership, deep pharmacovigilance expertise, and the ability to drive quality, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives in a global environment.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the Pharmacovigilance Case Processing Team through clear objectives, performance management, and career development plans

  • Support recruitment and onboarding of qualified PV professionals to meet evolving business needs

  • Collaborate closely with Global Pharmacovigilance (GPV) stakeholders to ensure consistent case processing standards worldwide

  • Actively participate in GPV leadership and operational meetings

Pharmacovigilance Operations & Product Expertise

  • Provide oversight and accountability for adverse event and product complaint case processing activities

  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely processing of PV cases in compliance with global regulatory requirements

  • Support business and operational projects aligned with GPV strategic objectives

Quality, Compliance & Process Excellence

  • Ensure high-quality pharmacovigilance data to support safety monitoring and signal detection for all Elanco products

  • Monitor compliance, quality, and productivity metrics; address gaps through corrective and preventive actions

  • Ensure team members are appropriately trained and qualified for assigned responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and data quality

  • Promote continuous improvement by collaborating with other GPV leaders globally

Cross-Functional & External Collaboration

  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across Regulatory, Quality, Call Centers, and Affiliate offices

  • Identify operational or compliance risks, propose solutions, and escalate to appropriate governance forums

  • Engage with internal and external customers to understand needs and improve service delivery


Educational Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
    OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline


Experience Required

  • Minimum 10 years of total Pharmacovigilance experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in Animal Health Pharmacovigilance

  • Minimum 2 years of team leadership or people management experience preferred
