Job Title: Statistical Programming Team Lead

Location: Bangalore/Chennai/Trivandrum (Hybrid)

As a Statistical Programming Team Lead, you will oversee the execution of statistical programming deliverables for clinical trials, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality. You will play a crucial role in managing the team, optimizing resources, and providing technical and managerial leadership. This position requires a strong balance of programming expertise, leadership, and the ability to work collaboratively across internal teams and with clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead and mentor a team of statistical programmers, ensuring that project deliverables are of the highest quality and meet established standards.
    • Provide training and development to direct reports, identifying skill gaps and proposing development plans.
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to support team growth and career progression.
  • Resource & Financial Management:

    • Manage resources effectively to ensure optimal staff utilization across programs.
    • Monitor and track the workload of the programming team, adjusting allocation as needed to meet project timelines and deliverables.
    • Review and analyze monthly reports for the program and take appropriate action to maintain project health.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication:

    • Maintain clear communication with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with operational and strategic objectives.
    • Lead client meetings to discuss metrics, progress, and any areas of concern.
    • Host regular townhalls alongside operational leads to provide program updates and ensure smooth communication across teams.
  • Project & Operational Oversight:

    • Ensure all statistical programming deliverables are completed in a timely manner, meeting client specifications and quality standards.
    • Assist in the management of competing priorities and support operational leads to ensure on-time project execution.
    • Contribute to financial management of the program and ensure budget compliance.
  • Leadership in Change Management:

    • Be proactive in identifying areas for process improvement and implementing changes to enhance team efficiency and program success.
    • Support the development of new programming capabilities within the team to adapt to changing industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • Typically, a minimum of 8 years in statistical programming, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
    • Experience in managing clinical programming teams and project management is required.
  • Skills:

    • Strong proficiency in statistical programming languages (e.g., SAS, R) and clinical trial methodologies.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage resources, and execute projects within scope and on schedule.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both internal teams and external clients.
  • Education:

    • A degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field is typically required.
