Role Overview

Position: Statistical Programmer II / Sr. Statistical Programmer
Specialization: R / R Shiny
Location: India (Remote)

This role focuses on developing statistical programming solutions using R and R Shiny for clinical trial data. The position requires strong technical expertise, data visualization skills, and experience working within the clinical research domain.


Key Responsibilities

1. Statistical Programming & Development

  • Develop and maintain programs using R for clinical data analysis

  • Build interactive dashboards and visualizations using R Shiny

  • Perform data wrangling and transformation using tidyverse

  • Create high-quality visualizations using ggplot2


2. Data Management & Analysis

  • Work with clinical trial datasets

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity

  • Support analysis and reporting activities


3. Version Control & Collaboration

  • Use version control systems such as:

    • GitHub

    • GitLab

  • Perform:

    • Code commits, branching, merging

    • Code reviews and collaboration


4. Study Leadership (Senior Role)

  • Lead programming activities for assigned studies

  • Manage multiple studies simultaneously

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams


5. Innovation & Advanced Capabilities

  • Explore and implement advanced programming techniques

  • Work with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude)

  • Contribute to development of reusable tools and packages


Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in R programming within the clinical domain

  • Strong experience with:

    • R Shiny (mandatory)

    • Clinical trial data


Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in:

    • R programming

    • tidyverse (data manipulation)

    • ggplot2 (data visualization)

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Git workflows (GitHub/GitLab)


Additional (Preferred) Skills

  • R package development

  • Experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude)

  • Knowledge of Iron Python


Soft Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking
