    Job Overview

    The Statistical Programmer will provide advanced technical expertise in developing and maintaining programming solutions tailored to meet the needs of both internal and external clients. This role involves planning and leading the development of comprehensive statistical programming tasks.

    Essential Functions

    • Programming and Documentation: Plan, program, test, and document programs for creating statistical tables, figures, and summary listings. This includes programming analysis databases (derived datasets) and managing data transfers for clients. Quality control checks for databases may also be included.
    • Database Integration: Program the integration of data from multiple studies or sources.
    • Technical Expertise: Offer advanced technical guidance to internal and external clients, independently delivering project solutions.
    • Process Development: Plan and implement new process technologies, macros, and applications, ensuring their validation.
    • Project Leadership: Serve as the statistical team lead for individual studies under supervision, managing project responsibilities effectively.
    • Scope Management: Understand the project scope, estimate completed work, manage out-of-scope tasks, and oversee budget and resource requirements for single studies.
    • Training and Guidance: Provide training and mentorship to junior staff members.

    Qualifications

    • Education: A Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience is required. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience will also be considered. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
    • Knowledge Base: Familiarity with statistics, programming languages, and the clinical drug development process is essential.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computing applications such as Base SAS, SAS/STAT, and SAS Macro Language is required.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Strong organizational skills combined with excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.
    • Multitasking Ability: Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Relationship Building: Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, and clients.
