Role Summary

The Statistical Programmer I supports biostatistics and statistical programming teams in clinical research projects. Responsible for creating, testing, and maintaining programs to support statistical analyses and reporting under the guidance of senior programmers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Use SAS or other statistical software to generate summary tables, listings, graphs, and derived datasets per statistical analysis plans (SAPs) and programming specifications.

  • Ensure outputs meet quality standards and project requirements.

  • Perform validation programming and collaborate with Biostatisticians and project teams to resolve discrepancies.

  • Maintain organized project documentation and verification/quality control records, ensuring inspection readiness.

  • Manage time and priorities across multiple projects and adapt to changes in timelines.

  • Prepare for internal meetings, contribute ideas, and collaborate effectively with colleagues.

  • Complete programming tasks within the timeframe specified by Lead Statistical Programmer or management.

  • Follow SOPs, Work Instructions, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH).

  • Perform other duties and minimal travel (<25%) as required.


Candidate Profile / Skills

  • Education: Undergraduate degree in scientific or statistical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and programming experience.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAS or other statistical software, preferably in clinical trial environment.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal English skills.

  • Attributes:

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

    • Team player, willing to collaborate and support projects

    • Attention to detail and quality
