What You Will Do

In this Sr. Medical Science Liaison role, you will serve as a vital scientific liaison to the medical and scientific community. Your responsibility will include establishing and maintaining strong relationships with prominent experts and clinicians across the U.S. You will also communicate valuable scientific insights and partner with cross-functional teams to support the company’s medical and clinical strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network and collaborate with external customers, including medical thought leaders, academic institutions, managed care decision-makers, and other key stakeholders while adhering to compliance, legal, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Effectively communicate scientific and medical information regarding Amgen’s products to the medical community, emphasizing their value.
  • Manage and prioritize customer feedback in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, ensuring the integration of feedback into internal resources and strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address customer needs through effective communication of scientific, medical, and health economic data.
  • Identify and train new speakers for external programs and provide scientific content for presentations.
  • Participate in national and regional conferences to stay current on clinical trends, competitive landscape, and to build relationships with key investigators and researchers.
  • Evaluate potential clinical research collaborations and facilitate investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and company-sponsored trials.
  • Monitor the competitive environment, staying informed about advances in therapies and competitive products to provide feedback to leadership.

What We Expect of You

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven individual who can contribute to Amgen’s growth and success. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Medical Affairs experience, OR
  • Master’s degree and 6 years of Medical Affairs experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Medical Affairs experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PharmD, PhD, MD, or DO (other doctoral degrees will be considered).
  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison.
  • Three or more years of experience in clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research (including post-doctoral training like residencies or fellowships).
  • Expertise in Rare Disease therapeutic areas.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time and work long hours due to travel demands.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new business tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism.
