Position Overview

Syneos Health seeks a Global Clinical Project Manager II to oversee early-phase clinical trials (Phase I and II) on a global scale. This role requires expertise in clinical research operations, project management, and cross-functional team leadership. The position is sponsor-dedicated, providing direct management of study execution, operational planning, and ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate is experienced in vendor oversight, regulatory compliance, and protocol development, with a strong ability to navigate the complexities of multinational clinical trials.


Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Manage interdisciplinary clinical research studies to ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), regulatory requirements, and company SOPs.

  • Act as the primary liaison between Syneos Health and sponsors, ensuring timely study launch, execution, and closeout.

  • Lead study teams to achieve quality, timeline, and budget goals.

  • Oversee financial performance and ensure resource optimization for assigned projects.

Operational Oversight

  • Coordinate activities across all study conduct partners and manage deliverables.

  • Develop and execute contingency planning and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure thorough documentation in the Trial Master File (TMF) and database systems.

  • Lead project-related meetings and deliver management reports on study progress.

Compliance and Readiness

  • Maintain inspection readiness for study-related activities.

  • Oversee development and implementation of study-specific project plans.

Business Development

  • Build and nurture relationships with existing clients to generate new or additional business opportunities.

  • Participate in bid defense meetings to represent Syneos Health’s project management expertise.

Leadership and Mentoring

  • Line-manage project management and clinical monitoring staff as required.

  • Provide mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.


Qualifications

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, or related fields (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Experience and Expertise

  • Proven experience in global clinical research within a Clinical Research Organization (CRO) or similar environment.

  • Strong understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ICH guidelines, and applicable regulatory frameworks.

  • Demonstrated success in managing early-phase clinical trials, including vendor and budget oversight.

  • Therapeutic area expertise and experience in global project delivery.

Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

  • Proficiency with emerging technologies to streamline clinical trial operations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to travel as needed (approximately 25%).


Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range

  • $85,500 to $175,700 annually, depending on qualifications, experience, and performance.
