Role Overview

The Senior Technology Director will lead GE HealthCare's enabling technology platforms, driving breakthrough innovations across AI, biosciences, microelectronics, sensing technologies, mechatronics, power electronics, thermal systems, and advanced engineering domains. The role combines technical vision, organizational leadership, technology strategy, and external partnership development.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Research Leadership

  • Define and execute long-term technology research roadmaps.

  • Align innovations with clinical and business needs.

  • Identify emerging technologies and build new strategic capabilities.

  • Lead resource planning and capability development.

  • Drive publications, patents, and scientific thought leadership.

  • Develop future scientific and technical leaders.

Business Alignment

  • Build strong relationships with GEHC business units and stakeholders.

  • Ensure alignment between research activities and product roadmaps.

  • Translate complex technical and business challenges into impactful solutions.

External Partnerships & Funding

  • Secure external funding through agencies such as:

    • NIH

    • BARDA

    • DARPA

    • ARPA-H

  • Establish collaborations with academic, industrial, and government partners.

  • Expand GE HealthCare's innovation ecosystem.

Technology & Team Leadership

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams spanning:

    • Artificial Intelligence

    • Biosciences

    • Mechatronics

    • Sensing Technologies

    • Microelectronics

    • Power Electronics

    • Thermal Systems

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration and execution excellence.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with:

    • Quality standards

    • Regulatory requirements

    • Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies


Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 10+ years of technical leadership experience.

  • Proven success leading multidisciplinary R&D teams.

  • Strong record of patents and peer-reviewed publications.

  • Experience converting research into commercial products.

  • Demonstrated success securing external research funding.

  • Experience working with clinical researchers and healthcare technologies.

Leadership Skills

  • Strong stakeholder management and influence skills.

  • Ability to lead across multiple functions and organizations.

  • Proven success in cross-disciplinary innovation programs.

  • PhD in:
