Job Description:

Purpose:

The Senior/Director of Biostatistics at LCCI will provide strategic and operational leadership for Global Statistical Sciences (GSS) in Bangalore. This role is crucial for managing and implementing global strategies and tactical directions for statistical deliverables across Lilly's portfolio, ensuring efficiency and responding to evolving business demands. The Senior/Director will excel in operational excellence and leadership behaviors to create a highly engaged and motivated workforce.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Enabling GSS Deliverables:

    • Provide strategic direction for GSS at LCCI.

    • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, influencing the field as necessary.

    • Partner with GSS leadership to plan, forecast, and manage resources for project delivery.

    • Drive efficiency and continuous improvement across GSS and the broader organization.

  • Statistical and Analytical Capabilities:

    • Supervise direct reports and develop deep technical capabilities within the team.

    • Build expertise in advanced statistical methods and foster scientific excellence.

    • Facilitate staff interactions with academic and professional external organizations.

  • Site Leadership and Partnership:

    • Collaborate with site leadership to support site strategy and effectiveness.

    • Partner with global GSS teams to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.

  • Enterprise Leadership:

    • Exhibit strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.

    • Represent GSS internally and externally, maintaining awareness of industry trends.

  • People Management and Development:

    • Recruit, develop, and retain a strategic workforce skilled in statistical methods.

    • Foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, and career development.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Statistics/Biostatistics.

  • 15+ years of industry experience, including 7 years in a supervisory role and 5 years in leadership positions.

  • Broad knowledge of the drug development process, including industry practices and quality expectations.

  • Ability to develop and implement strategies across people, processes, organizations, and technology.

  • Proven ability to partner and influence across a matrixed organization and collaborate globally.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.


Additional Preferences:

  • Minimum travel expected (10%).

  • Proven success in leading teams effectively and adapting to changing business priorities.
