Job Purpose

The Senior Research Associate will be a key member of the Translational Medicine team, responsible for performing routine mass spectrometry analysis of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and antigens.

Key Responsibilities

Mass Spectrometry and Protein Analysis:
- Conduct mass spectrometry analysis with a focus on monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and antigens.
- Ensure high-quality, reproducible experimental results and troubleshoot as needed to maintain data integrity.
Protein Purification:
- Utilize AKTA Pure and AKTA systems for affinity, ion-exchange, and size-exclusion chromatography for protein purification.
Protein Identification and Bioinformatics:
- Perform protein identification using database searches (e.g., UniProt).
- Apply bioinformatics tools to support mass spectrometry-based protein characterization.
Documentation and Data Management:
- Maintain detailed lab notebooks and accurately record data to ensure proper documentation and data integrity.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work effectively with team members, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Communicate research findings through written reports, presentations, and team discussions.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Educational Qualification: M.Sc, M.Tech, M.Pharm, or similar qualifications in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Life Sciences.
Technical Skills:
- Experience in mass spectrometry, particularly with mAbs and antigens.
- Proficiency in protein purification techniques using AKTA Pure and AKTA systems.
- Expertise in protein identification and bioinformatics applications.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to conduct precise, reproducible experiments.
Behavioral Skills:
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Quick learner with strong collaboration skills.
- Effective communication skills (oral, written, and presentation).

Desirable Technical Skills

Expertise in peptide mapping, deglycosylation, and post-translational modification (PTM) analysis.
Experience in the biotechnology industry.
Hands-on experience with protein expression in mammalian cell lines (HEK, CHO, Sf9).

Experience

2-3 years of relevant work experience in mass spectrometry, protein analysis, or related fields.
