Job Title: Senior Marketing Manager - UPLIZNA
Location: Amgen (U.S. - Domestic Travel up to 20%)
Contract Type: Full-time


Overview:

As a Senior Marketing Manager for UPLIZNA, you will play a key role in shaping the future of this critical therapy, which is currently indicated for Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD) and in development for other autoimmune diseases, including IgG4-Related Disease (IgG4-RD) and Generalized Myasthenia Gravis (gMG). This position will be pivotal in driving the marketing strategy and tactical execution of the UPLIZNA brand across its various indications in the U.S.

You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, ensuring effective brand messaging, developing omnichannel marketing strategies, and supporting patient educator functions to empower the UPLIZNA patient community. As a Senior Manager, you will lead the strategic planning for media activations, contribute to the brand’s long-term goals, and help shape the consumer journey across diverse platforms.


What You Will Do:

  • Purpose-Driven Campaigns:
    Lead the development of purpose-driven campaigns supporting UPLIZNA’s above-indication strategy. Collaborate with internal teams to identify and communicate the purpose of these campaigns to ensure alignment with overall brand strategy and audience engagement.

  • Strategic Planning & Execution:
    Lead the execution of strategic initiatives, particularly supporting the UPLIZNA patient educator function. Partner with relevant stakeholders to ensure the development of resources tailored to the UPLIZNA patient community.

  • Media Activations & Cross-functional Collaboration:
    Develop comprehensive media strategies that leverage innovative methods to engage consumers at key moments in their patient journey. Work closely with Communications and Media Leads to ensure messaging consistency and target accuracy across all platforms.

  • Agency & Publisher Relations:
    Oversee day-to-day management of agencies and publisher relationships, ensuring the seamless execution of media plans and campaign activations.

  • Budget Management & Performance Monitoring:
    Take ownership of the individual marketing budget and provide inputs to overall consumer budget management. Continuously monitor performance to ensure cost-effective program delivery.

  • Regulatory & Compliance Oversight:
    Lead the internal review processes, ensuring that all marketing materials comply with legal, regulatory, and medical standards.

  • Continuous Innovation & Learning:
    Champion innovation within the team, sharing insights and best practices across the organization, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Collaboration Across Teams:
    Work closely with HCP Marketing, Corporate Communications, Advocacy, Business Analytics, and other teams to ensure a cohesive and effective marketing strategy.


What We Expect of You:

We are looking for a collaborative marketing professional with a passion for healthcare and patient care who possesses the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Marketing/Sales Management experience
  • Master’s degree and 4 years of Marketing/Sales Management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Marketing/Sales Management experience
  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of Marketing/Sales Management experience
  • High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Marketing/Sales Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong Marketing Competence: Experience with brand positioning, market research, segmentation, and developing tactical plans across multiple channels (e.g., CRM, social media, mobile, website).
  • Consumer-Focused Initiatives: Proven track record of successful campaigns, particularly for regulated products/services.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to leverage analytics to derive insights and drive decision-making.
  • Creative Agency & Publisher Collaboration: Experience managing relationships with creative agencies to deliver engaging, consumer-focused campaigns.
  • Leadership & Critical Thinking: Demonstrated leadership skills, with a focus on collaboration, empowerment, and the ability to navigate complex challenges.
  • Empathy & Patient-Centric Approach: Ability to empathize with patients and create impactful experiences based on their needs and desires.
