Job Overview
The Scientist I – Protein Biology position is an early-career research opportunity within the antibody development team. The role focuses on protein engineering, antibody development, and immunoassay applications using advanced molecular biology and protein biology techniques. The selected candidate will support innovative research programs, contribute to product development initiatives, and ensure high standards of reagent quality and performance.

This role is suitable for candidates with strong academic training in protein biology, molecular biology, or immunology who seek to build expertise in antibody engineering and laboratory research within a global research environment.

Key Responsibilities

Protein and Antibody Research

  • Participate in antibody engineering and development programs with emphasis on performance and specificity.

  • Plan and execute laboratory experiments to achieve defined research and product development goals.

  • Support design, development, purification, conjugation, and testing of antibodies for immunoassay applications.

  • Maintain accurate experimental records, laboratory notebooks, and data documentation.

  • Conduct continuous scientific literature review to remain updated with advancements in antibody development and protein biology.

  • Compile, analyze, and present research findings through written reports and presentations.

  • Participate actively in team meetings and collaborative research initiatives.

  • Ensure adherence to research protocols, timelines, and quality standards.

Scientific Development and Technical Execution

  • Support protein and antibody engineering activities, including rational design and mutant development.

  • Perform molecular biology workflows and laboratory techniques relevant to protein development.

  • Assist in antibody conjugation and development of conjugation chemistries where applicable.

  • Contribute to display-based antibody development techniques and related platforms.

  • Apply statistical methods and data analysis tools for research interpretation.

  • Provide technical troubleshooting and support process improvements.

Experience Required

  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences with 0–3 years of relevant experience, or a recently completed PhD (submitted within the last one year).

  • Academic or research specialization in protein design, protein purification, molecular biology, immunology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or related fields.

  • Experience or familiarity with antibody or protein engineering techniques is preferred.

  • Knowledge of display-based antibody development or conjugation chemistry is desirable.

  • Academic research, thesis work, publications, or project experience supporting relevant technical skills is advantageous.

Educational Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Protein Biology, or related discipline.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Understanding of protein biology, antibody engineering, and molecular biology techniques.

  • Familiarity with protein purification, antibody conjugation, or immunoassay workflows.

  • Strong analytical and statistical knowledge with proficiency in data analysis software such as GraphPad Prism.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong scientific problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research-focused environment.

  • High attention to detail and strong commitment to research quality.
