Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist – Bioassay Screening to join our Biotherapeutic Drug Discovery team in San Diego. This role is ideal for freshers with strong academic backgrounds in molecular biology, biotechnology, or biochemistry. The successful candidate will support research teams by miniaturizing, optimizing, and executing bioassays using advanced automated platforms, contributing to the discovery of novel therapeutic biologics.


Key Responsibilities

  • Adapt and execute bioassays in mid- to high-throughput automated formats (96- and 384-well plates) to support biologics screening.

  • Develop de novo cell-based assays to expand screening capabilities.

  • Apply AI/ML-driven experimental design and adaptive screening strategies to reduce optimization cycles and accelerate discovery timelines.

  • Perform detailed analysis of biological activity using commercial and internal software tools.

  • Identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies and computational tools to enhance screening productivity.

  • Maintain organized, reproducible data records, SOPs, and electronic notebook entries.

  • Present results clearly to project teams, collaborators, and leadership.

  • Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.


Basic Qualifications (Fresher-Friendly)

  • B.S. or M.S. in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field (freshers encouraged).

  • Foundational knowledge of cell culture techniques and molecular biology assays.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.


Preferred Experience (Optional for Freshers)

  • Familiarity with plate-based bioassays (reporter, FRET/BRET, AlphaLISA, HTRF, internalization, co-culture).

  • Experience with automated instrumentation (liquid handlers, dispensers, multi-mode readers).

  • Exposure to AI/ML tools for experimental design and optimization.

  • Hands-on knowledge of advanced imaging, flow cytometry, or microfluidics-based assays.

  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology research environments.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $71,250 – $187,000
