Job Description

Purpose

The Scientific Communications Specialist will support the Global Scientific Communications team in producing high-quality documents.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Scientific Communications Document Support

Editing and Quality Review:

  • Ensure timely delivery of error-free regulatory and publication documents that meet international English standards.

  • Correct grammar, style, formatting, and syntax errors while identifying and fixing flaws in logic and flow.

  • Adhere to style guides and templates provided by the team.

  • Verify data accuracy and consistency within and across related documents.

Document Finalization/Publishing Services:

  • Produce final eCTD-compliant PDFs of medical regulatory documents using publishing software.

  • Review and format Word files to meet compliance requirements.

  • Render Word files into PDFs and edit as necessary to ensure regulatory standards are met.

General Expectations:

  • Maintain a strong customer focus.

  • Manage timelines efficiently and proactively.

  • Coach new specialists and coordinate with vendors when outsourcing activities.

2. Process Efficiency and Technology Advancement

  • Maintain proficiency in relevant software and workflows.

  • Introduce new tools and processes to streamline team workflows and enhance efficiency.

  • Establish uniform practices across the organization and suggest process improvements.

3. Therapeutic & Disease State Management

  • Understand communication strategies across therapeutic areas and organizational units.

  • Maintain knowledge of product and disease state information, and apply this knowledge in related activities.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to communicate and negotiate solutions to complex challenges with cross-functional teams.

  • Proven project management and time management skills.

  • Strong cognitive abilities, including attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Interpersonal skills with flexibility in varying environments.

  • Proficient in high-level computer skills (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentations).

Other Information/Additional Preferences

  • Specialized knowledge of editing and proofreading tools.

  • BELS certification preferred.

  • Familiarity with medical and statistical terminology.

  • General knowledge of scientific literature search and retrieval.

  • Limited travel (up to 10%).
