Fortrea, one of the world’s leading Clinical Research Organizations (CROs), is seeking a Research Technician I to support our Early Phase Clinical Pharmacology team in Daytona Beach, FL. This role is vital in the initiation and execution of Phase 1 clinical trials, ensuring safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic evaluation of new drug candidates.

The ideal candidate will have phlebotomy experience, with prior exposure as a Medical Technician, Patient Care Technician, or CNA preferred. This is an on-site, fast-paced role with rotating shifts and occasional weekends, offering hands-on clinical research experience in a team-oriented environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate vital sign measurements, including blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, weight, and temperature.

  • Conduct venipuncture, blood draws, and sample collection according to protocol specifications.

  • Prepare and record ECGs and Holter monitoring data.

  • Process and distribute biological samples while maintaining compliance with study protocols.

  • Monitor participant dietary compliance during clinical trials.

  • Assist with room and medical equipment preparation for clinical procedures.

  • Support screening procedures and other clinical tasks as required.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient study environment.

  • Respond to clinical emergencies in line with research standards.

  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned to support trial efficiency.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; recent graduates or individuals with minimal clinical experience are encouraged to apply.

  • 0–1 year of clinical research or relevant patient care experience.

  • Phlebotomy, EMT, CMA, or CNA certification preferred.

  • Previous clinical experience in a healthcare or research setting is advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Frequent standing, walking, and repetitive hand movements for clinical procedures.

  • Ability to lift or carry up to 15–20 lbs.

  • Exposure to medical equipment and clinical research technology.
