Job Description

Position Summary
Jubilant Biosys is hiring a Research Associate for its Discovery Biology team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have experience in cell-based and enzyme-based assay development, optimization, and validation in drug discovery, particularly for therapeutic areas such as CNS, metabolic disorders, autoimmune/inflammatory diseases, pain, and oncology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and validate cell-based assays and enzyme-based assays for compound screening under the guidance of group leaders.
  • Work on in vitro assay development, focusing on assay optimization and validation for various targets across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Conduct functional cell-based assays to assess the activity of new chemical entities (NCEs) and ensure data accuracy.
  • Responsible for writing protocols, maintaining lab notebooks, and ensuring proper data documentation.
  • Use GraphPad Prism (or similar statistical analysis software) for data analysis and graphical representation, including IC50 determination.
  • Design and execute experiments, carry out calculations, and analyze experimental data.
  • Assist with SOP writing and follow safety protocols and ethical guidelines for experimental procedures.
  • Collaborate with project teams to report experimental results, troubleshoot, and achieve project objectives.
  • Maintain a learning attitude and a willingness to acquire new skills in the research domain.

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification: M.Sc / M.Tech (Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology or related fields).
  • Experience: 2 to 6 years of hands-on experience in cell-based assay development, enzyme-based assays, and in vitro screening.

Skills Required

  • Knowledge of in vitro assays and their application in drug discovery.
  • Experience with GraphPad Prism for statistical analysis and data interpretation.
  • Strong understanding of experimental design, data analysis, and graphical representation.
  • Ability to follow and maintain ethical guidelines and lab protocols.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong learning aptitude to adopt new techniques and methodologies in the research field.
