Key Responsibilities

  • Synthesize, purify, and characterize novel chemical compounds for drug discovery.
  • Deliver small to large quantities of chemical entities for research purposes.
  • Collaborate within a team to advance chemistry projects.
  • Ensure safe conduct of chemical reactions.
  • Display strong knowledge of basic and advanced organic chemistry, functional group conversions, and multi-step synthesis.
  • Manage pyrophoric reactions, TLC, column purification, and extraction processes.
  • Analyze and interpret NMR, IR, and Mass Spectrometry data.
  • Maintain safe laboratory practices.
  • Use MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and structure drawing software (ChemDraw/ISIS).
  • Document and report research findings in electronic lab notebooks.
  • Conduct literature searches using platforms like Reaxys.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm to work in a dynamic research environment.
  • Possess strong communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, M. Pharma, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • 1-6 years of industry experience in a leading CRO or similar organization.
    • Familiarity with retrosynthetic analysis and pyrophoric reactions is desirable.

  • Strong technical skills in organic synthesis and reaction management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Good understanding of computer tools and scientific literature search.
