🔬 Position Overview
As a Research Associate in the Personalized Healthcare (PHCS) Assay Development Team, you will:
Conduct research, development, and manufacturing laboratory experiments to support Ventana projects.
Work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment, applying scientific and technical expertise to support project strategies.
Design, execute, and interpret experiments, prepare scientific documentation, and participate in cross-functional product characterization studies.
Preferred: Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., in vitro diagnostics) and knowledge of GMP, GLP, and Design Control procedures.

Experimental & Research Work
Develop and optimize experimental protocols with minimal supervision.
Design methods and solutions for diverse, complex scientific challenges.
Conduct and analyze bench experiments, maintaining precise records and detailed observations.
Prepare and present technical reports, summaries, and data analyses to project teams.
Process & Quality Improvement
Recommend and implement workflow and laboratory improvements.
Apply sound judgment to select methods and techniques within defined policies.
Participate in failure investigations and contribute to process refinements.
Collaboration & Leadership
Act as a productive and collaborative team member within cross-functional teams.
Train and mentor colleagues in areas of expertise.
Troubleshoot challenges, apply corrective actions, and ensure compliance with Roche quality standards.
Promote a continuous improvement and “Quality First Time” mindset.
👩🔬 Who You Are
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Biology.
Minimum 2 years of relevant job experience.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
Understanding of assay development within regulated industries.
Experience with VENTANA automated slide stainers.
Proficient in basic and specialized laboratory techniques.
Ability to research and interpret scientific literature effectively.
Skilled in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data presentation tools.
💰 Compensation & Benefits
Location: Tucson, Arizona
Salary Range: $57,000 – $81,400 USD annually
Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Benefits: Eligible for full Roche benefits package (see official Roche site for details).
Relocation: Not available for this position.
