Position Overview:

The Quality Medical Reviewer plays a pivotal role in ensuring medical accuracy and consistency in promotional and non-promotional materials. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to review, approve, and manage scientific and clinical content while maintaining compliance with Lilly's internal standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve promotional and medical (non-promotional) materials:

    • Verify data accuracy against source documentation and ensure consistent use across charts, legends, and footnotes.

    • Ensure visual representations of data accurately convey meaning and results.

    • Confirm information is clear, complete, accurate, and concise.

    • Guarantee consistency across related documents, ensuring statements and conclusions are integrated, balanced, and supported by appropriate data.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams:

    • Partner with Marketing, Medical teams, and other stakeholders during content review and approval.

    • Attend review meetings and provide scientific and clinical input.

  • Quality, speed, value, and compliance:

    • Address clinical/medical/scientific content questions from cross-functional teams.

    • Participate in the development and review of promotional and medical content.

    • Identify and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring issues.

    • Track and manage deviations in collaboration with CIQ/MCA Lead and Operations teams.

  • Scientific and medical input:

    • Offer insights to the development, review, and approval of promotional and medical materials.

    • Stay current with therapeutic areas, products, disease states, and trial designs.

  • Tools and platforms:

    • Utilize Veeva Vault, Wrike, MS Project, and other project management tools efficiently.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in scientific, health, communications, or health-related fields with a formal research component.

  • Experience:

    • 2-4 years of experience as a scientific/medical editor, copywriter, or reviewer in the pharmaceutical industry, publishing, marketing, or communications.

    • Familiarity with scientific/medical/statistical terminologies.

    • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., pharma).

  • Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical ability.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Ability to work independently and within culturally and geographically diverse teams.


Additional Preferences:

  • Familiarity with US CIQ/MCA framework, processes, and tools (e.g., Veeva Vault, Wrike).

  • Experience in reviewing/writing Medical Affairs communications (e.g., slide decks, patient or HCP materials).

  • Knowledge of clinical pharmacology and therapeutic areas such as neuroscience, oncology, cardiovascular, immunology, or endocrinology.
