Job Title: Publications Writer – Global Scientific Communications

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India

Job Overview:

The Publications Writer at Lilly plays a key role in developing scientific publications, including abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and presentations. This role requires strong scientific knowledge, data evaluation skills, and expertise in scientific communication to ensure the accurate and timely dissemination of information across the drug development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Strategy & Document Development:

  • Collect and analyze scientific data from multiple sources to create a cohesive content strategy.
  • Develop and finalize scientific publications following industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Lead document initiation meetings to align the authoring team on objectives and content.
  • Ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in data presentation.
  • Manage scientific reviews, feedback integration, and final document preparation.
  • Maintain compliance with publication ethics and authorship guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal and external experts to develop scientific presentations.
  • Manage vendor and alliance partner relationships as needed.

Project & Stakeholder Management:

  • Lead the scientific writing process and apply project management skills for timely completion.
  • Develop realistic publication timelines and anticipate risks.
  • Communicate project progress to stakeholders and escalate critical issues when necessary.

Knowledge & Skills Development:

  • Maintain therapeutic area expertise relevant to assigned projects.
  • Stay updated with scientific communication trends and digital publication tools.
  • Understand publication guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Knowledge Sharing & Training:

  • Mentor and coach team members in scientific writing best practices.
  • Network with cross-functional teams to share knowledge and improve processes.
  • Provide expertise in document management systems and publication databases.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in a scientific field (PhD, MD, PharmD, MA, MBBS preferred).
  • Experience in writing and publishing scientific content.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Proficiency in medical, technical, or scientific writing.
  • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Knowledge of clinical development, regulatory submissions, and health outcomes research.
  • Advanced computer skills in document processing, tables, graphics, and presentations.
