⚙️ About the Job

The Production Technician will support the downstream processing (Clarification & Purification) and buffer preparation areas of Sanofi’s cGMP commercial manufacturing facility for Flublok Drug Substance.

You’ll operate and maintain general manufacturing equipment under supervision, following cGMP and safety guidelines, ensuring high-quality and compliant production.


🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, clean, sanitize, and maintain downstream processing equipment, including stainless-steel vessels, transfer lines, peristaltic pumps, and WFI taps.

  • Execute large-scale manufacturing techniques:

    • Centrifugation

    • Depth filtration

    • Chromatography column purification and packing

    • Tangential flow filtration (TFF)

    • Clean-in-place (CIP) and steam-in-place (SIP) operations

  • Prepare and manage buffer solutions, raw materials, and components (FIFO compliance).

  • Perform in-process testing (pH, conductivity, turbidity) and maintain accurate documentation (GDP standards).

  • Participate in cleaning and preparation of workspaces and biosafety cabinets using aseptic technique.

  • Support troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, deviation reporting, and CAPA processes.

  • Collaborate across departments to resolve quality and operational issues.

  • Work flexible schedules, including weekends and extended hours, as required by production needs.


🧠 About You

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • High School Diploma with ≥1 year of work experience, or

    • Bachelor’s Degree with 0 years of experience

  • Preferred Experience:

    • cGMP manufacturing training or biopharma production experience

    • Familiarity with BEVS (Baculovirus Expression Vector System) is a plus

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of cGMP, GDP, and SOPs

  • Excellent documentation and communication skills

  • Team-oriented mindset with problem-solving initiative

  • Ability to analyze and interpret manufacturing data

  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long intervals

Work Conditions

  • May require 50+ hour workweeks based on production needs

  • Frequent weekend or split-shift work

  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials (safety protocols provided)
