About the Team

The Hazard Communication team at Thermo Fisher is dedicated to evaluating and communicating the hazards of chemicals used and sold. This includes developing comprehensive programs such as labeling, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and employee training to ensure proper understanding and handling of chemicals.

Role & Responsibilities

As a Product Stewardship Specialist I, you will conduct hazard assessments for various products, maintain safety data, and prepare Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in multiple languages. You will also respond to customer inquiries about product safety and ensure compliance with global chemical regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct hazard assessments for all products and ensure that safety data is maintained in the Oracle Cloud system.
  • Prepare Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure proper product labeling.
  • Work closely with R&D teams to gather required data for hazard assessment.
  • Collaborate with toxicologists to ensure products' hazards are properly evaluated and addressed.
  • Understand and interpret U.S. and International transportation hazard classifications, including OSHA, GHS, and REACH regulations.
  • Maintain product safety information in the internal data repository and assist with managing SDS distribution tools.
  • Support the EH&S initiatives and participate in training programs.
  • Assist with various team projects and respond to customer inquiries regarding product safety.

Candidate Requirements

🎓 Education & Experience:

  • Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Toxicology, Chemistry, Biology, or other life sciences.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle detailed information accurately.
  • Ability to work independently in an ambitious and dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with chemical regulations such as GHS, REACH, and Safety Data Sheet requirements.
  • IATA DGR certification is preferred.

💼 Skills:

  • Ability to handle a high workload and meet standard response times.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, MS Excel, and MS Access.
  • Strong English language skills; additional language skills (European or Asian) are a plus.
