Job Description: Principal SAS Programmer

Overview

We are currently seeking a Principal SAS Programmer to join our growing team. This role involves leading and executing programming deliverables on high-complexity projects or multiple moderate complexity studies, ensuring project objectives are met within agreed timelines and to the highest standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

Lead and manage programming deliverables for one high-complexity project or at least two moderate complexity studies.
Ensure project objectives are met within the agreed timelines and to the highest quality standards.

Programming and Data Management

Create and validate safety and efficacy analysis datasets in adherence with CDISC and client-specific standards.
Create study-specific or general macros and finalize programming specifications/mock-ups.
Adhere to programming specifications and study-specific requirements, including the completion and filing of required documentation.

Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting

Plan and organize workload to ensure effective time management and adherence to project-specific timelines.
Troubleshoot and resolve programming issues promptly and efficiently.

Communication and Collaboration

Proactively communicate and work effectively with the biostatistics team, including remote teams, senior programming staff, management, and sponsor personnel to achieve study goals.
Demonstrate a constructive and flexible approach to project delivery, including problem-solving, handling changing priorities, and meeting study timelines.

Knowledge Sharing and Process Improvement

Actively participate and contribute towards department initiatives, including sharing knowledge, reviewing current literature, and process improvement.
Participate in the review and approval of programming procedures and techniques.
Participate in audit meetings with sponsors, as required.

Client Relationship Management

Develop and foster client relationships through effective project management and communication.
Keep management informed of project status in relation to quality, timelines, and performance issues.

Desired Skills and Experience

Proficient in SAS programming.
Subject matter expert for SDTM and ADaM datasets.
Strong people management skills.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
