Role Overview

As a Principal Statistician, you will lead biostatistical components for clinical research and development projects, providing expertise across design, analysis, and reporting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior statisticians, and ensure all statistical activities comply with regulatory and internal standards. This role offers the opportunity to impact Pfizer’s scientific output and help guide healthcare decisions globally.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and execute biostatistical analyses for clinical trials and research projects.

  • Lead or co-lead moderately complex projects, managing time, resources, and deliverables effectively.

  • Apply statistical knowledge to resolve complex problems and develop innovative solutions.

  • Review your own work and mentor colleagues by providing technical guidance and reviewing their analyses.

  • Collaborate with scientists and cross-functional teams on study design, analysis, and reporting.

  • Ensure all project-level statistical activities meet Pfizer standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Contribute to research on statistical methodologies and their application to pharmaceutical development.

  • Prepare technical reports, manuscripts, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.


Required Qualifications

  • Education:

    • BA/BS with ≥4 years of relevant experience

    • MBA/MS with ≥2 years of experience

    • PhD/JD with any years of experience

    • Associate degree with ≥8 years of experience

    • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with ≥10 years of experience

  • Strong statistical knowledge, including general linear models, mixed models, non-linear models, experimental design, variance components, and quality control.

  • Experience with data visualization, computational tools, and multi-dimensional genomic data.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce technical reports.

  • Familiarity with ICH guidelines and pharmacopoeia monographs.

  • Experience in regulated scientific environments demonstrating applied statistical expertise.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with relevant pharmaceutical or clinical research experience.

  • Experience providing statistical support to oncology clinical studies.

  • Knowledge of advanced statistical methodologies and applications in clinical research.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions in non-standard situations.
