📝 Position Overview

The Principal Statistical Programmer is a senior-level contributor (P23 level) responsible for leading complex programming tasks, developing high-quality statistical outputs, and mentoring junior team members. The role supports statisticians and clients by managing and executing statistical programming activities using advanced knowledge and tools.


🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain statistical programming standards and best practices.

  • Provide technical leadership for statistical programming deliverables.

  • Collaborate with statisticians, clinical teams, and stakeholders to define programming requirements.

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of all statistical outputs.

  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior programmers.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex programming issues.

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and tool development.

  • Design and implement efficient, scalable programming solutions for clinical projects.

  • Stay current with emerging programming trends and regulatory changes.

  • Manage or contribute to multi-functional projects spanning several therapeutic areas.

  • Oversee the creation of ADaM datasets, tables, listings, and figures (TLFs) as per CDISC standards.


🎓 Qualifications

Education:

  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in statistical programming, preferably in a clinical trial or pharmaceutical environment.

  • Proven leadership in delivering statistical programming projects.

  • Experience in developing ADaM, SDTM datasets and TLFs using SAS and/or R/Python.

Certifications:

  • SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9 or equivalent preferred.

  • Expertise in SAS, R, or Python for statistical programming.

  • In-depth knowledge of CDISC, SDTM, and ADaM standards.

  • Solid understanding of statistical methodologies and clinical data.
