🔧 Job Responsibilities

As a Principal Statistical Programmer, your core responsibilities will include:

🛠️ Programming & Development

  • Develop and maintain statistical programming standards, tools, and best practices

  • Design and implement efficient programming solutions tailored to project requirements

  • Write and validate SAS, R, or Python programs to support statistical analysis

  • Create and manage statistical tables, listings, and graphs

🔍 Data Integrity & Quality

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of statistical outputs

  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback

  • Troubleshoot and resolve programming issues

🤝 Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with statisticians, data managers, and other cross-functional teams

  • Mentor and train junior programmers and peers

  • Lead technical discussions and project-based decision-making

📈 Process Improvement

  • Evaluate current programming processes, propose enhancements, and drive automation

  • Stay current with industry trends and integrate new technologies where applicable


🎓 Qualifications

📚 Education

  • Master’s degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in:

    • Statistics

    • Computer Science

    • Mathematics

    • Related scientific/technical fields

🧠 Experience

  • Extensive experience in statistical programming (preferably in clinical trials, CRO, pharma, or biotech industries)

  • Experience with clinical trial data standards (e.g., CDISC, SDTM, ADaM)

💻 Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in:

    • SAS (Base, Macro, SQL)

    • R and/or Python

  • Deep understanding of statistical methods and clinical data analysis

✅ Certifications (Preferred)

  • SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9 or equivalent


💡 Necessary Skills

  • Expertise in statistical programming and data analysis

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards


📌 Role Summary – P23 Level

Roles at the P23 level in the Statistical Programming job family involve:

Core Functions:

  • Developing programs to support statistical analysis and reporting

  • Creating ADaM datasets, TLGs, and submission-ready outputs

  • Managing complex data workflows and project-level programming activities

  • Contributing to technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration

  • Reviewing and improving programming standards and procedures

Impact & Contribution:

  • Play a strategic role in delivering programming solutions with a measurable impact

  • Lead or contribute to projects spanning multiple departments

  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives

  • Influence programming strategy and innovation within the team
